An unusual floating staircase design over 3 floors taking centre stage in the atrium of a Hertfordshire property.
Continuous treads of walnut overlap the central helical soffit. The overlap gives a zig zag effect when viewed from the side or from underneath, tranforming a simple staircase into an architectural masterpiece. The timber of the treads was carefully matched to floor finishes in the property.
Slim, satin polished spindles are topped with a dark brown Havana handrail. The leather clad handrail runs continously along the length of the staircase.
