Oak Staircase, Yorkshire
Oak staircase with glass balustrade for a new build property on the outskirts of a Yorkshire market town.
The property has huge windows overlooking the courtyard, and it was the clients’ intention that the staircase looked as good from outside as inside.
There are actually 2 flights of stairs, each supported on dual saw tooth stringers. Chunky oak treads were routed to take a carpet inlay as the clients preferred the warmth of carpet over cool timber.
Low iron glass balustrades were capped with a round profile oak handrail, taking some amazing twists and turns as it travels continuously up the stairs and around the landing galleries.
