Our clients wanted a staircase for their new oak framed pool house in the garden of the property.
Starting at mezzanine level, the staircase descends to ground and then again to a subterranean pool.
The lightweight design contrasts with the rustic nature of the oak frame building, so interfaces were an important part of the design. Marine grade stainless steel stringers with a brushed steel finish support treads of kiln dried oak.
A toughened glass balustrade capped with stainless steel handrail slots into the treads on both sides of the stair and allows light to travel through the triple height space.
For projects in a wet or marine environment it is essential the correct grade of steel is specified. This will ensure longevity and a rust free appearance.
