August was a busy month for Workshop Training.
In addition to their day to day workload the craftsman attended both Welding Refresher and Manual Handling training courses.
Welding is a core part of the workshop role at Bisca. All our craftsmen are highly skilled individuals with a keen eye for detail and appreciation of quality. Regardless of their qualifications or experience though, we ensure they undergo regular training and testing.
Our trainer put the guys through their paces, producing samples of work by each discipline (MIG, TIG & MMA). Even with their combined years of experience, the feeling was that there is always something to learn!
The skill of our workforce is a very important element when it comes to satisfied customers. High quality welds are of course a pre-requisite due to the structural nature of the things we do. Producing work of high quality also makes for a flawless finish, helping to set us apart from traditional staircase fabricators.
Manual Handling took place later in the month. Lifting boxes, bags of plaster and lengths of steel, done on a regular basis are very easy to get wrong.
