Bisca Sponsors The Next Generation of McLanes in Marine Conservation Fundraiser
In a quest to raise money for a cause close to their hearts; siblings Dylan and Ella McLane will put their endurance to the test next week. Exercising a sense of both passion and purpose, they will together embark on the iconic 24 hour National Three Peaks Challenge – first conquering Ben Nevis (Scotland), followed by Scafell Pike (England), and finally Snowdon (Wales) — in just one day.
All in support of a worthwhile cause, their chosen charity – The Marine Conservation Society – aligns well with Bisca’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The firm has agreed to be main sponsors of the duo – as they rise to the occasion (quite literally) and hike both day and night to achieve the ultimate – the UK’s three highest summits in 24 hours.
Never having completed a similar mission, they will use their close bond to power each other through. Bisca will be supporting both in spirit, and in presence, to minimise any strain brought by the likely lack of sleep and nourishment. As founder of Bisca and father of Dylan and Ella, Richard will be acting as designated driver, while Bisca funds both transport, mobile accommodation, hiking equipment and sustenance to keep spirits up high.
Richard goes on to explain:
“This is the perfect opportunity for us not just to reinforce our pledge for doing what we can to protect the future of our planet – but also to show our support for young people getting out in to nature and making the most of the beautiful world we live in. I’m very proud of Dylan and Ella – this idea came from them and it will be a pleasure to be a small part of their adventure.”
Kicking off in the early hours of Friday 12th Sept, there is just ONE WEEK left for preparation – leaving hopefully enough time to boost the funds they can raise before the first ascent.
In total they will walk 23 miles; rising 3064 metres above sea level; while cramming in 462 miles of travelling… and hopefully a bit of sleeping.
This is not just an expedition to raise money for the Marine Conservation Society – but also to raise awareness of the charity’s fantastic work; which tackles anything from reducing ocean pollution, to protecting marine wildlife, and supporting climate resilience into the future.
Bisca is calling on its partners, its allies, its suppliers, its customers – and anybody who may have had the pleasure of meeting Dylan and Ella – to show their support. A donation of any amount will be gratefully received and in return we will keep you updated on progress as their challenge unfolds.
Dylan concludes:
“We’ve always wanted to take on the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge. This year, we decided to turn that dream into a way of giving back — and what better charity than one that’s striving to restore the health of our oceans – for the benefit of both wildlife, our natural ecosystems and everyone who lives here, on the island we call home.”
