New Garden Design Overcomes the Problem of Tree Roots.

A typical English country garden with established trees and invasive tree roots.

Our clients commissioned us to design a feature bridge and garden gate. The bridge provides a safe path between two mature trees with protruding roots.

Our Concept Design solution

A bridge of sleepers arch over the roots of the tree before flowing down towards the gate.

A sweeping handrail follows the line of the bridge supports, emerging from the ground as a tapered newel post before rising with the bridge and creating a physical link to the new gate.

The gate is also designed using Railway sleepers.
