Elegant Georgian Staircase, Surrey

A complete change of shape for restoration of a Georgian inspired property.

A Georgian inspired staircase replaced a former helical as part of a complete property renovation project.

Our clients wanted a straighter staircase, to the left of the entrance, giving them more space. They had strong views and knew exactly what they wanted on the design aspect. Working through options together they chose a design inspired by Georgian staircase reference images.

The staircase design is a contemporary classic, with a comfortable rise and generous going.

The clients had a very precise look in mind and this project involved an intensive sampling process to ensure every aspect was perfect. Bisca worked with the kitchen company, Humphrey Munson, to match the handrail to the timber of the new kitchen.

White painted treads tone with the interior scheme and have a classic edge profile whilst providing a contrast with the herringbone flooring.

Forged steel uprights are swaged and finished with hot wax. These work together with a unique reverse taper newel. An oval profile handrail flows around the landing edge before ending in feature volutes at the foot of the stair.

Give our sales office a call to discuss the optimum layout for your own space. In addition, ask about the wide range of forged finishes available for uprights.
