The Role
As demand for our work continues to grow, we are looking for the right individual to join our manufacturing team. Experience is welcomed but is by no means the most important factor. What matters most is attitude, enthusiasm, commitment, curiosity, and a genuine passion for craftsmanship, creating and making. We are looking for somebody hardworking, ambitious, and driven – somebody who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in achieving exceptional results, and is constantly looking to improve, develop new skills, and find new ways of working.
The ideal candidate will bring a positive, forward-thinking mindset and be motivated by personal development, progression, responsibility, and recognition for the quality of work they produce. In return, Bisca will provide full training, mentoring, and a clear long-term development pathway, helping you build a broad range of skills across multiple disciplines. We actively encourage innovation, creative problem solving, and the development of new crafting and manufacturing techniques.
Key Skills and Experience
As a Craftsperson / Blacksmith / Fabricator, you will play an important role within a small but exceptionally skilled manufacturing team. You will work across a wide variety of materials, fabrication techniques, and installation processes to help create bespoke staircase commissions to the highest possible standards.
Every staircase is different, which means every project presents fresh challenges, opportunities to learn, and the chance to contribute ideas throughout the manufacturing process. We are passionate about developing craftspeople who are inquisitive, adaptable, and excited by learning and refining skills.
You will be involved with a diverse range of workshop and installation activities including:
Metal fabrication, MIG/TIG welding, grinding and polishing
Timber finishing, stone and glass handling, spray finishing and forge work
Assembly, lifting operations, and site installation work
Quality checking, workshop preparation and project organisation
You will be capable of upholding exceptionally high standards of housekeeping and professionalism. Clear and positive communication will be key to your role, while attention to detail and a motivation to achieve results are essential to fulfilling your responsibilities. Whether you have gained your experience through previous employment, college training, hobbies, or personal projects – it will be your aspirations, work ethic and positive mindset that will set you apart.
Experience of metal work including MIG/TIG welding desirable – full training can be provided
Full Drivers License Essential
Interest in bespoke architectural manufacturing
Enthusiasm, positive attitude and a team player
As part of the role, you will offer flexibility in working hours as project timeframes require and embrace the prospect of travelling to property installations in the UK and overseas.
