The owners of a complete renovation in Wakefield commissioned Bisca to design and craft a bespoke staircase which would vertically connect the basement through to the ground and first floors. By opening up the ground floor, an impressive triple height space was created with helical layout bringing together a classical influence with an elegant feel.

Modern Staircase Design BalustradePushing Boundaries with Modern & Beautiful Staircases

The client commissioning this staircase was looking for a functional ‘piece of art’ for their coastal property, encouraging Bisca to push the creative boundaries with a double-flight helical staircase layout. This statement staircase has a light and open design which appears to float in the space, connecting three floors using a minimal footprint, the stairs curve around a central coil in a sculptural way. U Shaped Cut String Staircase with Striking BalustradeU Shaped Cut String Staircase With Striking Balustrade

The owners of this staircase were building a new upside-down house on the side of a hill and so unusually, the landing balustrade and head of the staircase would become the most viewed part of the staircase structure. A collaborative project where Bisca worked closely with architects, Halliday Clark, this U-shaped staircase features a striking concertina balustrade finished in metallic bronze. More about this project

 

 

Inspirational Staircase with Oak Treads 8118An Inspirational Staircase Design Introducing Fluidity & Curves

Commissioned for an arts and crafts style new build home, the challenge here was to mimic the style of an older house. The client wanted their staircase to become a memorable feature, located within the central entrance hallway of their new home. Running alongside a straight wall, Bisca introduced a sense of fluidity with a rounded, organic feel which included curves at the foot and the head of the staircase. More about this project

This curved winding oak staircase has an understated elegance, designed with a modern twist to create an impressive entrance with a dramatic curved galleried landing. Designed to incorporate storage, the staircase sits atop panelling with classical style mouldings and the treads stop 40cm short of the wall, to give the impression of a floating stair.
